South African court ordered Google to pay 10bn Roubles in favour of Russia
The Supreme Court of the Republic of South Africa upheld the ruling of the Moscow Arbitration Court, obliging Google to pay 10 billion Roubles, and the company's assets in the jurisdiction of South Africa have been frozen as part of the decision, RIA Novosti reports
The Russian Vedomosti publication reads that petitions for the enforcement of the Russian court's decision against Google were sent to the courts of many countries in Africa, Asia and Europe, but it was the South African court that was the first to rule on the freezing of the company's assets.
As reported by the source, the arrest warrant for the assets has already been handed over to the sheriff for further execution.
