Snopkov: Belarus, China assert the right to choose their own development path

Joint assertiveness of the sovereign states to choose their own path of development, socio-economic model, constitutional structure and territorial integrity is a paramount issue of Belarusian-Chinese co-operation development – as noted by Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister, Co-Chairman of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Co-operation and former Ambassador of Belarus to China, Nikolai Snopkov, during an international scientific and practical conference, BelTA reports

Mr. Snopkov delivered a speech during the conference entitled Three Decades of Belarusian-Chinese Relations and Creation of Community of Common Destiny for All Mankind, stressing importance of developing co-operation between Belarus and China. This January, Belarusian-Chinese diplomatic relations are celebrating their 30th anniversary.

The First Deputy Prime Minister emphasised a huge role of the two states’ leaders in rapid development of Belarusian-Chinese co-operation. "In a short time, relations between Belarus and China have moved from friendly ties to comprehensive strategic partnership, all-weather friendship and iron brotherhood – the highest possible form of relationship," Mr. Snopkov said.

He stressed that, over the past three decades, our countries – despite differences in their scales – have focused on a common task: how to build a state that effectively solves issues of social development based on historical traditions and modern technologies. According to Mr. Snopkov, Belarusians and Chinese recognise the state as an institution responsible for social justice and development.

"China started on this path earlier – enabling us to use its invaluable experience to find recipes for our own development. I would like once again to congratulate the Chinese side on successful achievement of the goals set for the Chinese Communist Party centenary. I am convinced that the goals set for the centennial founding of the PRC will be reached as well,” he added.
