Shoigu: NATO transport with weapons for Ukraine will be destroyed
Upon arriving to Ukraine, NATO’s vehicles transporting weapons and ammunition for Ukrainian troops will be destroyed – as stressed by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, RIA Novosti reports
“The United States and its NATO allies continue to pump Ukraine with weapons. I would like to note that any vehicles of the North Atlantic Alliance – that arrive in the country carrying weapons or supplies for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces – are viewed as legitimate targets,” Mr. Shoigu said.
At the same time, he emphasised that, during Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, Russian servicemen ‘are showing courage and bravery, faithfully fulfilling their military duty, and ensuring the safety of the people in Donbass’.
“The Russian Armed Forces will continue to carry out the tasks set by the Commander–in-Chief,” Mr. Shoigu stated.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported that the Russian military will view any cargo with weapons that the United States and the European Union are sending to Ukraine as a target.
