During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of co-operation between Belarusian organisations and Rosatom, tackling the possibilities of implementing joint projects.

“The areas of activity of the State Corporation Rosatom are of great interest to Belarus,” Sergei Shlychkov underlined. “A number of Belarusian organisations also boast extensive experience in many areas that you presented, which opens up new opportunities for the implementation of joint projects.”

The Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology added that one of the forms of implementation of the Belarusian-Russian initiatives to develop and master new types of high-tech goods in production is the implementation of Union State sci-tech programmes.

“The customers of such programmes can be government bodies and other organisations of Belarus and Russia that have the competence and authority to place government orders, including Russian state corporations, e.g., seven Union State programmes in the field of space have already been implemented, the customer of which was the State Corporation Roscosmos,” Sergei Shlychkov noted.

He drew attention to the fact that by resolution No. 19 of the Union State Council of Ministers dated September 14th, 2022, amendments were made to the procedure for the development and implementation of the Union State programmes, which exclude the stage of developing a draft programme concept. This measure enables to significantly reduce the time required for the development and approval of new programmes.

The visit of the Belarusian delegation to Moscow takes place from February 28th to March 3rd. The programme of the visit also includes meetings with the management and acquaintance with the projects of Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions, Rusatom Greenway, TVEL Fuel Company of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics (VNIITF), the Federal Environmental Operator, and Rusatom International Network Private Institution.
