Serve for the good of the Fatherland

Social support for people in uniform will be strengthened. The West is developing strategic plans to attack Russia. The Armed Forces will do everything possible and even impossible to protect the Fatherland. Details from a ceremony to honour graduates of military schools and high-ranking officers.

Presenting general’s shoulder boards to high-ranking officers and Presidential Thanks to the best graduates, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed the special importance of the mission entrusted to the military, “People believe that we, officers, will do everything possible and even impossible to protect the Fatherland. And we just cannot let them down. We are military people, we are trained for war. Yet, we must do everything so that a war does not happen.”

Loyal to their country

The time at which the participants of the ceremony completed their studies is really difficult. This is the first thing that the Commander-in-Chief drew attention to when congratulating the heroes of the occasion on this significant event, “Our defence system really needs officers who know their job and, most importantly, who are loyal to the country and our state. The world is changing. So are armies and methods of warfare. Armed forces are getting new high-tech weapons. Intelligence is in demand like never before.”
According to the President, Belarus has always understood this and made relevant conclusions,
“Therefore, we will continue supporting people in uniform, upgrading the Armed Forces — the main guarantor of sovereignty and independence of Belarus. This policy remains unchanged. I must tell you that this policy in terms of the social protection of our military and law enforcement agencies in general will be strengthened as early as next year.”
“The profession of an officer is honourable and respected today. True values like faith, duty to the nation, serving the Fatherland remain steadfast,” noted the President.
The people in uniform supported the country in difficult times two years ago.
“We were able to withstand the rabid pressure on us from those who wanted a coup d’état through rebellion. We have kept peace in our country together with the true patriots of Belarus,” added Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Hybrid warfare and global security

Meanwhile, the events that unfolded around Belarus and Russia also require utmost vigilance and concentration, the Head of State drew the attention of the ceremony participants. This is how he described the current world situation, “Led by the United States, the Western countries have been destroying the system of global security consistently, methodically and even against their own national interests and wishes of the peoples. This purposeful policy has led to the military conflict in Ukraine.”
Addressing the graduates of military universities, Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that in the course of their studies they carefully studied the development of the military-political situation, therefore they perfectly understand what is happening on our western borders, “Under the guise of strengthening the defence of Europe and conducting all kinds of ‘defensive’ exercises, NATO countries are putting together an armoured strike force, clearly meant not for defence. The military understand this.
Strategic plans to attack Russia (the President of the Russian Federation and I discussed it in detail) are being developed recently. And the main direction of attack (the history is repeating itself) will go through Ukraine and Belarus.”
Touching upon the policy of NATO member countries, the Belarusian leader shared the following opinion, “Apparently, the newly-minted ‘crusaders’ of the North Atlantic Alliance suddenly decided that the time is right for another ‘Drang nach Osten’, forgetting how similar campaigns ended for their historical predecessors… The pressure on Belarus is growing not only in the military-political but also in other areas, primarily in economy and media.
This once again confirms that we are up against full-scale hybrid warfare which is always offensive in nature.”

Fascists have not gone anywhere

Commenting on the difficult external situation and the issue of war, the Head of State expressed his conviction that Europe, in fact, does not want to fight, “They are no fighters. Of course, Europe does not want to fight. But it is also clear that Europe does not decide anything today. It is completely under Washington’s thumb. Therefore, we, guys, should no way lower our guard.”
The Belarusian leader clarified that we can’t relax because modern fascists in NATO countries have not gone anywhere and have not died, “And they intend to carry out a strike via Ukraine and Belarus. This is why perhaps, maybe even partially intuitively I ordered the defence minister, the chief of the General Staff to work out an operation and fully cover the western border back in February. Although the threat seemed to be at the southern border.”
We didn’t sleep there either, but we covered the western border. And as you can see this strategy proves to be right several months later, noted Aleksandr Lukashenko,
“We make the relevant conclusions from this conflict in Ukraine. Because there is a war over there today. God forbid if this war comes to Belarus. It is in this manner that we will have to protect our Fatherland if crazy people prevail over there.”

Deserve the confidence of the people

The growing tension is manifested in ongoing attempts to split the economic and political unions which include Belarus and Russia. The President explained, “Amid the severe pressure some of our allies in the CSTO and the CIS have, unfortunately, chosen a wait-and-see approach, to put it mildly. Yet, the Belarusian policy has not been shaken. We maintain a dialogue with countries that respect our opinion and our interests.”
But the world, the Head of State highlights, will not be the same,
“The ongoing developments represent decisive steps towards a multipolar world order and the discontinuation of American hegemony bolstered by the military buildup, neo-Nazi ideology and openly fascist regimes around objectionable countries. Unfortunately, such a policy of the West is bringing the world closer to the abyss of a big war where there will be no winner.”
Belarusian leader emphasised that the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations enjoy great support and trust of the people,
“People believe that we, officers, will do everything possible and even impossible to protect the Fatherland. And we just cannot let them down. I want you to be worthy of this trust. We are military people, we are trained for war. Yet, we must do everything so that a war does not happen.”
