Sergeyenko: President’s Address to Belarusian People and Parliament to be key event of Belarusian People’s Congress

The key event of the Belarusian People’s Congress will be the President’s Address to the Belarusian People and the Parliament – as stated by Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko at today’s meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives, sb.by reports

“April will see the regular session of the Belarusian People’s Congress, with all deputies of the House of Representatives taking part as delegates. Undoubtedly, the key event will be the annual Address of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, to the Belarusian People and the Parliament, in which the Head of State will outline the country’s domestic and foreign policy. The task of the Parliament, as well as of all branches of power, is to ensure the clear implementation of the course outlined by the leader of our country,” Mr. Sergeyenko noted.

The speaker recalled that it had been announced that the Government would report on the implementation of the programme of Belarus’ socio-economic development at the Belarusian People’s Congress and outline the strategy for the next five years.

“We must approach this event prepared, with a clear vision of the areas where we can contribute,” Mr. Sergeyenko emphasised.
