Sergeyenko: Belarus can resist all threats it faces

Belarus can resist all the threats that it faces – as stated by the Head of the President Administration, Igor Sergeyenko, at a meeting with labour teams in Bobruisk on topical issues of the emerging military-political situation

In his speech, Mr. Sergeyenko noted that the NATO bloc is significantly increasing its presence at Belarus’ western borders. Dozens of exercises are being conducted, while combat potential, ground and air forces are being built up. The military situation around the country is being escalated. Naturally, the enemy primarily directs its efforts against Russia, but also against Belarus, of course.

“Various foreign centres are making efforts to undermine our country from the inside, starting with attempts of a coup in 2020, which failed. Over the past two years, we have seen constant attempts to shake up the situation among different groups of the population and labour teams. Efforts failed with regard to workers and students, and the recent attempt involved entrepreneurs, taking into account innovations related to the pricing policy regulation. It has led to no success,” the Head of the President Administration noted.

Mr. Sergeyenko added, “As the Head of State says, we will be constantly tested for strength – to explore our vitality and ability to withstand various threats. I cannot but mention also the intensification of intelligence agency activities in relation to Belarus.”

Nevertheless, as the Head of the President Administration stressed, Belarusians live and work. “Moreover, we do not simply live: we are rather enhancing our economic potential, increasing results in industry and agriculture – despite the sanctions actively used against our economy. True, it is difficult, and we need to look for new sales markets, new options for selling our products and purchasing raw materials. However, not a single social programme has been curtailed under these conditions, and projects are still being implemented – including in the Mogilev Region. On the eve of the nationwide holiday of November 7th, more than twenty social facilities of diverse degrees of complexity were launched in Belarus, and this indicates that we can resist all the threats arising against our country – including from the neighbouring territories, and also the life-dictated challenges and risks in the economic sphere,” Mr. Sergeyenko concluded.
