Sechin: US failed to realise powers of the leader it assumed
It is already obvious that the United States has failed to realise its assumed leadership powers and does not provide the necessary conditions for maintaining a just world order. It is also obvious that America has lost leadership in the scientific, technological, industrial, and financial spheres, which was difficult to imagine just a couple of decades ago. This was stated by Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin at the plenary session of the 17th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, which began its work today in Ras Al Khaimah (UAE).
Developing the topic of the loss of weight by the United States on the world stage, Igor Sechin stressed, “This has led to a decrease in the dominance of the United States in the economy, and the former unconditional influence of the United States on political processes is being eroded. As a result, using its status as a global hegemon, the United States is making the main bet on creating special conditions for its economy at the expense of other market participants. We see the consequences of such a policy both in Europe and in developing countries. They are deliberately escalating and are being created in the Middle East, Ukraine, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.”
