Scientists of Belarus and Russia to conduct clinical trials of vector vaccine for tuberculosis immunotherapy

St. Petersburg has hosted a meeting between State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev and Director of the A.A. Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza of the Russian Health Ministry Dmitry Lioznov – as reported on the website of the Union State Standing Committee

The meeting tackled a wide range of topics of co-operation between the A.A. Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza and Belarusian colleagues, including the preparation of a Union State project to develop an anti-tuberculosis drug.

“The project is unique for conducting first clinical trials of a vector vaccine for immunotherapy of pulmonary tuberculosis for intranasal use,” Institute Director Dmitry Lioznov said in a conversation with the State Secretary of the Union State.

Dmitry Mezentsev stressed that ‘the health ministries of Belarus and Russia are ready to act as state customers for the development of a socially significant drug’.
