Saber Strike international military training launches in Latvia

International military training led by United States European Command starts in Latvia today, TASS reports

According to Latvia’s Defence Ministry, about 400 American servicemen will participate in the training running until March 23rd. In addition, about 100 machinery units and 22 US Apache combat helicopters will be involved. Around 800 US soldiers and up to 250 military units will arrive from Lithuania on shared roads by February 28th.

At the same time, from February 28th to March 11th, international military training Crystal Arrow 22 – organised by the mechanised infantry brigade of the land forces – will be held in Latvia. As reported, about 2,800 troops and national guards from Latvia, the US and ten other states – that are part of NATO multinational battalion stationed in the country – are likely to take part in the training. At least 300 units of ground and air machinery will be used.

As part of the US Air Force training in Europe next month, KC-135 tanker aircrafts will be stationed in each of the Baltic States to conduct joint exercises with US F-15 fighter jets based in Estonia.
