Rybakov: Belarus in regular contact with US Department of State leadership over past four years
Belarus has been in regular contact with the leadership of the US Department of State over the past four years – as noted by Belarus' Permanent Representative to the United Nations Valentin Rybakov, who took part in a meeting of President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko with US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, BelTA reports
"The fact that there is not much information about such meetings and that it has started to be made public relatively recently does not mean that our contacts with the American side have just begun. Regular consultations are held with the US Department of State leadership, and with the [US] Administration leadership for some time now. They are organised on a regular basis for four years already," the diplomat said.
"These meetings take place in Washington. We agree on the agenda of the upcoming visits, and – in between the latter – we discuss our bilateral agenda and regional issues. Naturally, the conflict in Ukraine is in focus, and also the Middle East, where the situation is, unfortunately, escalating,” Mr. Rybakov added.
