First of all, the Russian governor congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on his convincing election victory, “You are indeed the closest and most dear people to us, a state that is absolutely friendly to us. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you personally and on behalf of all Russians on your confident election. We see how much trust the Belarusian people have in you. In addition, we have a huge number of your admirers and people with deep respect for you in Russia, including in the Far East.”

According to Mr. Demeshin, the high level of co-operation between Russia and Belarus will allow for better economic development.

“Interregional co-operation remains an important area of interaction. A significant volume of trade turnover is concentrated in the regional dimension. Despite its remoteness from Belarus, the Khabarovsk Krai is fully involved in the processes of regional integration with Belarusian partners,” the Russian governor noted.

Mr. Demeshin pointed out that the Khabarovsk Krai is a huge industrial region, the industrial centre of the Far East. It is there, in particular, that the world’s most modern fighter aircrafts and civilian airliners are manufactured. In this regard, the governor expressed interest in the Belarusian leader’s proposal for co-operation between Belarus and the Khabarovsk Krai in the field of aircraft construction.
