Russian Foreign Ministry: military supplies to Kiev lead to development of black arms market

Arms supplies to Ukraine do not contribute to the settlement of the conflict, but they can lead to the development of a black arms market in Western Europe – as stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, RIA Novosti reports

According to Ms. Zakharova, the governments of those countries that supply military equipment to Ukraine still prefer not to disclose the possible consequences of providing military assistance to Kiev.

“Meanwhile, independent experts and specialised structures such as Interpol are already starting to sound the alarm,” she added.

Maria Zakharova stressed that some media have already published information about the activities of international criminal groups that have thought over schemes for the removal of weapons from Ukrainian territory.

“Now the West and the US, and NATO as a whole, are showing unprecedented concern for the future of the Balkans. We imagine what the future will be for the Balkans under the wing of NATO, and also with such an updated black arms market,” said the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

She also stated that the authorities of countries helping Ukraine will be responsible for the safety of civilians. According to Maria Zakharova, a huge number of people could suffer from terrorists who have weapons in their hands.

The representative of the Foreign Ministry explained that the West is now trying to help the Zelenskyy regime and at the same time get rid of its own extremists and radicals, as well as obsolete weapons.
