Russian embassy said US is trying to ‘heat up’ conflict in Ukraine
The Russian embassy in the United States said that the United States, with its statements about the ‘annexation’ of the liberated Ukrainian territories, is trying to ‘heat up’ the conflict and drag it out for a longer period, RIA Novosti reports
Earlier, the White House warned of tougher anti-Russian sanctions if Moscow attempts to ‘annex’ Ukrainian territories. The Russian Embassy in Washington published a response to the statement of the American side in its official Telegram channel.
“The claims about the aggressive nature of the Russian military special operation are fundamentally false. We are returning peace to the liberated territories, creating circumstances for normal life and respect for equal rights of citizens regardless of ethnicity and language,” the Russian embassy stressed.
The message reads that infrastructure is being actively restored in the liberated Ukrainian territories, with thousands of specialists being involved in this process. The Russian side has repeatedly stated that the population of the Ukrainian territories will decide on their future independently. The Russian embassy notes that all this has nothing to do with the concept of ‘annexation’.
According to diplomats, ‘new insinuations are another confirmation of Washington’s desire to ‘heat up’ the conflict as long as possible’.
