Russian Education Minister: co-operation plan in education aimed at development of bilateral initiatives

The action plan for the development of co-operation for the next two years was signed in Minsk between the Education Ministry of Belarus and the Education Ministry of the Russian Federation, envisaging joint Olympiads for schoolchildren on various subjects, the list of which is expected to be expanded, attracting students to sci-tech creativity and many other interesting events. In particular, a programme of co-operation between the Belarusian National Children’s Technopark and the Russian Sirius Educational Centre is scheduled while schoolchildren from Russia will be able to participate in the Belarusian forum of young researchers Path to Science. The most important direction will be the implementation of the Belarusian-Russian patriotic, cultural and educational project: Train of Memory.

“The signed document consolidates the agreements already reached and is designed at the broad development of bilateral initiatives,” Russian Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov assessed the results of co-operation and its prospects during the signing of the document. “Our main task is to continue interaction across such areas as educational work, improvement of the education system, holding patriotic events, cadet education. We will pay attention and share experience in the field of pedagogical education, as well as in the system of secondary vocational education.”

On the Belarusian side, the action plan for the development of co-operation for 2023-2024 was signed by Education Minister Andrei Ivanets. The document also stipulates the participation of representatives of the Union State education system in the Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus; holding a joint meeting of the boards of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Education Ministry of Russia, the Education Ministry of Belarus, the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus; as well as participation in educational conferences and forums held in two countries.
