Russian Defence Ministry responded to UK statement provoking Ukraine to strike targets in Russia
The Russian Defence Ministry commented on the statement of the UK Armed Forces Minister James Heappey, in which he called on Ukraine to carry out strikes in Russian territory, TASS reports
“We would like to underline that London’s direct provocation of the Kiev regime into such actions, if such actions are carried out, will immediately lead to our proportional response. As we have warned, the Russian Armed Forces are in round-the-clock readiness to launch retaliatory strikes with high-precision long-range weapons at such decision-making centres in Kiev,” noted the Russian Defence Ministry.
The Russian Defence Ministry also added that ‘representatives of a certain Western country located in those Ukrainian decision-making centres in Kiev would not necessarily be a problem’, when Russia makes decisions on retaliatory actions.
During an interview with the BBC radio station, James Heappey said that it would be acceptable for Ukrainian forces to use Western weapons to attack ‘legitimate military targets’ in Russia.
