Russian army will continue special operation in Ukraine until goals achieved, Defence Ministry states
The Russian army will continue its special military operation in Ukraine until the goals are achieved – as stated by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, TASS reports
"The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will continue to conduct the special military operation until the set goals are achieved," Mr. Shoigu said, adding that the main task is to protect Russia ‘from a military threat created by the western countries that are trying to use the Ukrainian people in the fight against Russia’.
Mr. Shoigu noted that the Russian army does not occupy the Ukrainian territory and takes all measures to preserve the lives and safety of civilians. “Airstrikes are carried out only on military targets and exclusively with high-precision weapons,” he stressed.
According to Mr. Shoigu, ‘during military clashes, the Ukrainian side does not shy away from using civilians as human shields. Multiple rocket launchers, guns, large-calibre mortars are placed in courtyards of residential buildings, near schools and kindergartens’.
