Russia’s CSTO representative: NATO caused comprehensive security crisis in Europe

The Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation to the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), Viktor Vasilyev, said the North Atlantic Treaty alliance led Europe to a comprehensive security crisis and a failure of the Euro-Atlantic security concept, TASS reports

According to Mr. Vasilyev, NATO is using the situation to expand its presence in Eastern and Central Europe, as well as in the Baltic States. They deploy additional attack systems, improve their military infrastructure, up the intensity of joint military exercises. All that destroys the equal and indivisible security principles and the concept of refusal to strengthen own security at the expense of others. In his opinion, a comprehensive security crisis in Europe and a failure of the Euro-Atlantic security concept are undeniable facts.
