Russia, Belarus to establish production of electronics for motor industry

Russia intends to develop electronic engineering jointly with Belarus – as informed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government, Yuri Borisov

Actually, Russia has not been engaged in development of electronic engineering, and it is no need to do it alone these days. Previously, goods of the kind were not produced domestically, and the country relied on imports. Meanwhile, Mr. Borisov believes the key task now is to restore this industry.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that relevant Belarusian enterprises have been developing electronics production since Soviet times. Among them is Belarus-based Planar Holding which focuses on precision engineering and creation of laser-optical equipment.

Mr. Borisov also mentioned some other Belarusian companies, including Integral. This enterprise specialises in development and production of microcircuits, semiconductors and other electronic equipment.

The Russian official voiced his country’s plans to liaise with Belarusian design centres: in co-operation with Russian colleagues, these can ‘quicker bridge the existing gap’.
