Riots in Kazakhstan were not spontaneous but well planned

This idea was shared by Aleksei Avdonin, an analyst with the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research, in his talk with ONT TV channel

In his opinion, there are enough reasons and explanations for that cruelty. “As experts, we should understand that all actions were well planned and not spontaneous. We actually observe the use of a completely new political technology of seizing power. Sometimes it is called the technology of violence. This happened because a very quick result was needed in Kazakhstan, and it could only be achieved by violence. We did not observe a typical velvet revolution with peaceful protests. That was a combination of clearly organised terrorist groups with the protest movement," the expert said.

Mr. Avdonin added that the protest movement in Kazakhstan was very strong, “It involved mostly unemployed young people. A revolution or protests do not emerge from scratch. This was facilitated by a certain deterioration of socio-economic conditions.”
