Results of co-operation between Minsk Region and Kazakhstan

The Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Turchin, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Belarus, Askar Beisenbayev, to sum up the results of co-operation between the Minsk Region and Kazakhstan in 2021 – as reported by the Minsk Regional Executive Committee

The sides also discussed joint promising projects and identified key areas of development for the coming years.

As noted, liaisons between the Minsk Region and Kazakhstan have been and will remain fruitful. Agreements on socio-economic, sci-tech and cultural co-operation between the Karaganda and Minsk regions are in force, while trade-economic, sci-tech and cultural ties are especially developing between the Minsk Regional Executive Committee and the Akimat of Pavlodar Region, as well as between the Slutsk District Executive Committee and the Akimat of Pavlodar District of Pavlodar Region.

Last year, the Minsk Region and Kazakhstan registered $190m of foreign trade volumes, with the growth rate reaching 107.5 percent. Exports accounted for about $180m, and the growth rate stood at 107.2 percent.

A positive balance in foreign trade made about $170m. The volume of direct investments coming from Kazakhstan amounted to at least $1.2m – 37.2 percent up the 2020 figures.
