The delegation of Republika Srpska visited the Belagro-2025 international specialised exhibition in Minsk and got acquainted with the Belarusian agro-industrial complex development last week.
"Over the past twenty years, Belarus has achieved impressive results in the development of agriculture. Our country demonstrates high production rates and excellent quality of its food, which is facilitated by favourable climatic conditions, well-developed infrastructure and state support for the agricultural sector," Mr. Gorlov thanked his colleagues for the visit and noted the key achievements of domestic agriculture. He added that Belarus is ready to become a reliable partner for Republika Srpska in the agricultural sector, expand bilateral co-operation and strengthen the legal framework.
According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry data, the trade turnover of agricultural products between Belarus and Bosnia and Herzegovina demonstrated growth: 111.7 percent against the same period in 2021. Exports of Belarusian food increased 5-fold in this direction.
"What I saw is impressive, and it gives me confidence that not just co-operation, but real friendship will grow out of our initiative. There is a huge base for the development of co-operation in many areas! We will exchange information about the successes achieved in order to choose the most successful points of contact. You have an excellent seed industry, your agrotechnical measures and agricultural machinery are great, and we are ready to learn from your successes,” Savo Minić stated.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to start work on an agreement on co-operation in the field of agriculture, which is scheduled to be signed by the end of summer. The document will become the basis for specific projects and long-term partnership. As noted at the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the visit became an important step towards establishing trusting relations.
