Renewed public cadastral map presented

A modernised public cadastral map of the Republic is now available to Internet users

It took the developers 18 months to complete the work. Actually, Belarus’ public cadastral map has always been popular. Up to 600,000 users visit the resource annually to learn of the exact boundaries of localities, administrative-territorial units, building addresses and inventory numbers of land plot. As soon as the data on the basic information resources is updated, it is immediately displayed on the map.

Mikhail Khil, the General Director of the National Cadastral Agency, comments, “Time dictates changes. Firstly, the map should have a good modern interface friendly to the user, with a multi- search function making it possible to analyse the map through several layers which are displayed simultaneously. A mobile version of the map is also necessary since it’s not always possible to use a personal computer. The map is available and operates 24/7; its information is free.”

The official adds that, thanks to co-operation with a number of state bodies and organisations, many additional layers have been added to the public cadastral map, “For example, people want to know where springs are located – to beatify them or collect clean water. By now, jointly with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, we have mapped all the Belarusian sources. Monuments of the Great Patriotic War also enjoy popularity.”

At the moment, the map includes more than 25 layers of proven and definitely useful information, with those related to real estate remaining the key. These have recently been supplemented with the Interactive 5D Passports layer provided by the Minsk Regional Agency for State Registration and Cadastre. “This topic will be of great interest to potential investors from the point of view of determining the location of future objects,” explains Mr. Khil. “A model with the existing communications could be designed when auctions on the sale of land plots are organised.”

The National Cadastral Agency proudly informs that the software for a mobile map, proper co-ordination and positioning, as well as the cartographic interface, have been professionally developed by its employees.
