The ceremony was also attended by Belarus’ Deputy Prosecutor General Gennady Dysko and Minsk City Prosecutor Oleg Lavrukhin.

In summer 2024, a previously unknown site of mass human extermination was discovered in a wooded area on Parnikovaya Street in Minsk. During the investigation, the remains of at least 75 people were found, including 60 men and 5 women. In addition, physical evidence was found: Automatic Colt, Borchardt, Browning, and Mauser pistol cartridges, fragments of shoes, clothing and other items.

“Today we commemorate the people who fell victim to the fascist regime during the Great Patriotic War, the most severe and destructive war that claimed millions of lives. Despite the decades that have passed since then, search teams are still finding the remains of dead soldiers and civilians. As part of the investigation of the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people, previously unknown atrocities committed by the Nazi criminals and their accomplices were uncovered. The established facts speak of the deliberate, cynical extermination of peaceful people on Belarusian soil,” Gennady Dysko addressed the participants of the event. According to him, the preservation of historical truth is not only the duty of the state, but also the duty of every citizen.

A memorial stone was erected at the burial site. The participants of the event laid flowers and wreaths at the memorial. This was followed by a memorial service for the victims, conducted by representatives of various religious denominations.
