Raisi: Iran ready to share its experience of countering sanctions with Belarus

Iran is ready to share its experience of resisting sanctions with Belarus – as stated by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi at a meeting with media representatives following the talks in Tehran with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA reports

“Despite the threats and sanctions that are applied against the Islamic Republic of Iran, during this time we have been able to achieve high results and transform sanctions into opportunities. We are ready to share our experience with the friendly country of the Republic of Belarus in this direction,” said Ebrahim Raisi.

The President of Iran has no doubts that the current visit of the Belarusian leader can become a starting point in the development of bilateral relations. Following the talks, the heads of state signed a roadmap for comprehensive co-operation between Belarus and Iran for 2023-2026, envisaging the development of interaction in the political, economic, consular, are sci-tech fields, as well as in education, culture, art, media and tourism.

“Good agreements have been reached in the spheres of industry, trade, transport, and agriculture. We are confident that these agreements will be implemented,” the Iranian Head of State stressed. “The will of the two countries is to develop relations across all spheres without exception.”

According to him, Iran is also keen to develop relations with Belarus on the platforms of international organisations, particularly in the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) and the EAEU. “We had very good, fruitful negotiations in this regard,” said Ebrahim Raisi.
