Putin was informed on readiness of Belarusian Marina Vasilevskaya for ISS mission
Russian President Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Yuri Borisov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities. The issue of preparing for the flight of the crew with the representative of Belarus, Marina Vasilevskaya, was also raised, sb.by reports with reference to the Telegram channel of Roscosmos.
The Russian President asked how the preparations for the new mission to the International Space Station (ISS) were going. The Roscosmos Head noted that the preparation has entered the final stage, “Literally now, all complex tests for crew training are being completed.” Yuri Borisov recalled that the crew consists of three people, “Marina Vasilevskaya, a cosmonaut from our fraternal Republic of Belarus, who was selected from six applicants back in December 2022, has started training since August 2023. She has completed all the exams and is ready to the flight.” He also mentioned the Commander of the spacecraft, Oleg Novitsky, “He is no longer a novice in space flight.”
“The third crew member is American astronaut in cross-flight Tracy Dyson. She will replace Loral O'Hara, who has worked for six months on the ISS,” Yuri Borisov explained.
According to the Head of Roscosmos, the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft is expected to deliver astronauts to the ISS on March 21st. Their return is expected on April 2nd.
