Putin: Russia will be able to destroy Patriot complexes in Ukraine

If Washington supplies Patriot air defence systems to Kiev, the Russian military will be able to destroy them – as stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports

In an interview with the Rossiya-1 TV channel, Vladimir Putin said, “Of course, we will destroy them. It’s 100 true!” He added that there are no such Patriot complexes in Ukraine so far.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin stated that Russia will be able to find ‘an antidote’ to a Patriot complex: on December 22nd, he said that it is ‘a fairly old system’, and it does not work like the Russian S-300.

The US has recently announced a new package of American military assistance to Ukraine totalling $1.85bn. It for the first times includes Patriot air defence complexes.
