Putin: Russia is not threatening anyone with nuclear weapons
Russia is not threatening anyone with nuclear weapons, but everyone should understand what the Russian Federation has, and what will be used if sovereignty protection is required – as stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports
Vladimir Putin noted that statements about Russia’s alleged threats regarding the use of nuclear weapons are made by Western politicians.
“We hear the rhetoric of the kind. Where is it coming from? From their own statements: now and then irresponsible politicians would blurt out something like that, even at a very high level, at the level of the Foreign Ministry. Should we stay silent? We are responding accordingly. As soon as we respond, they would seize upon our words and say: ‘Look, Russia is threatening [us]’. We are not threatening anyone, but everyone should know what we have and what we will use if there is a need to protect our sovereignty," the Russian leader stressed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
