Putin confirmed plans regarding Belarusian cosmonaut flight to orbital station next year

Belarus and Russia are closely liaising in many science-intensive industries, e.g., in space exploration, including the joint creation of satellites – as stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin following the talks with the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, in Minsk

In particular, the Russian leader noted, “Next year, as agreed, a flight of a Belarusian cosmonaut to the orbital station is planned. Aleksandr Grigorievich, if I understood correctly, accepted my invitation to visit the Cosmonaut Training Centre in Russia in the coming days – before the informal CIS summit in St. Petersburg.”

According to Vladimir Putin, the regions of the two countries, which have established direct ties through local authorities, business circles, public representatives, figures of culture, education and science, make a great contribution to the development of Belarusian-Russian interaction across all areas. The Russian President added, “Taking this opportunity, I would like to invite Belarusian friends to the anniversary 10th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia, which we plan to hold in Ufa next summer.”
