Putin: 2021 was very productive for Belarus and Russia
The year 2021 was very productive for Belarus and Russia – as stated by President Putin during his meeting with the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, today in Moscow, BelTA reports
"We meet regularly, and there is something to talk about. Since this is the first our meeting this year, I would like to say that last year was very productive," Vladimir Putin stressed, adding that the two leaders’ meetings take place on a regular basis but today’s face-to-face meeting is the first one in 2022 – thus producing a good opportunity to co-ordinate stances on many positions.
"I would like to say that last year was quite productive. Firstly, we made serious progress in the construction of our Union State. Our colleagues worked jointly intensively to prepare 28 good programmes. Actually, development along many of these avenues is in place for a long time. In fact, these 28 programmes have updated the previous plans,” Vladimir Putin said.
As the Russian President added, a concept of migration policy and military doctrine have been adopted. “Much work has been done,” he said.
"Pleasingly, the economy is actively developing – demonstrating a serious growth of more than 38 percent and almost $35bn turnover," Vladimir Putin stressed. “Of course, this is a very good figure – indicating that what we are doing in the field of integration produces a concrete return. And behind this are jobs, people's quality of life and salaries. Therefore, I think we are acting in the absolutely right direction. We will discuss all this today."
