Professor Yemelyantseva on Doctor of Science title: it is important to pass knowledge and experience on to our younger generation of doctors
All conditions have been created in Belarus for conducting scientific activities, obtaining objective information and systematising it – as stated by Tatiana Yemelyantseva, a Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology with a course of advanced training and retraining at the Belarusian State Medical University, when receiving a diploma of the Doctor of Medical Science degree from the hands of Belarus’ President today
“Getting a Doctor of Science diploma from the hands of the President of our beloved country is the highest responsibility before the state. It is very important to transfer our knowledge and experience to the younger generation of doctors. In our country, all conditions have been created for conducting scientific activities, obtaining objective information and systematising it – in order to make strategic decisions in medicine, for example, based on the results obtained. We have talented young people who want to get engaged into science," Prof. Yemelyantseva said.
The researcher was awarded the Doctor of Medical Science degree for the development and implementation of methods of diagnosis, rehabilitation and habilitation, medical and social expertise of children suffering from the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as well as other neuropsychiatric development disorders, including the autism spectrum ones.
“In most cases, ADHD is established when a child goes to school, and the inappropriate, disorganised behaviour becomes a big problem. It is difficult for teachers to cope with such pupils, and they need to consult a doctor. Parents should know that their child has such a problem, and then the behaviour can be explained, and options can be offered to correct it,” Prof. Yemelyantseva added.
