Presidents of Belarus, UAE discussed development of co-operation and implementation of bilateral projects
The talks between the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, have taken place today at the personal residence of the UAE leader, BelTA reports
During the talks, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan discussed issues on a rich bilateral agenda.
Back in February, during the previous meeting, the heads of state agreed to deepen co-operation in a number of areas. Belarus and the United Arab Emirates have launched important projects, and today the leaders of the two countries have compared notes regarding their implementation.
The UAE is Belarus’ main trading partner among the Arab states of the Gulf. The trade turnover between the two countries has been growing steadily, demonstrating impressive dynamics and results recently.
Last year, the United Arab Emirates took the third place in terms of the total volume of investments injected into the Belarusian economy. The countries enjoy a high level of political dialogue, and this is also confirmed by the intensity of contacts at the high and highest levels.
The meeting today has taken place at the personal residence of the President of the United Arab Emirates, and the negotiations lasted about two hours – ‘in a homelike, family format’, as the host party noted.
Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked his Emirati counterpart for the warm welcome and his attentive attitude to the Belarusian delegation.
