President’s Sports Club joins forces with Russian Olympic Committee

Dmitry Lukashenko, the Chairman of the Central Council of the President’s Sports Club, held a meeting with Stanislav Pozdnyakov, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, to discuss issues of expanding bilateral ties in sports and promising areas of co-operation – as reported by the press service of the President’s Sports Club

Dmitry Lukashenko spoke about the activities of the President’s Sports Club for the development of mass sports in Belarus and noted the importance of joint work for the benefit of the development of elite sports, as well as mass sports on the territory of friendly states.

The meeting also tackled the current situation related to the suspension of the membership of all organisations from Belarus and Russia in the TAFISA Association for International Sport for All, including the President’s Sports Club and the Russian Olympic Committee, as well as activities under restrictions imposed by the IOC and a number of international sports organisations.

The two sides determined the prospects for the development of interaction between the President’s Sports Club and the Russian Olympic Committee in mass sports, as well as sports for people with intellectual and physical disabilities at the international level.

Moreover, the meeting resulted in the intention to conclude a memorandum of co-operation between the two organisations, which will be the starting point for joint work in the development of mass sports in the two states.
