President of Uzbekistan advised Belarusians to support each other in modern difficult times

Uzbekistan has long had special, good relations with Belarus – as noted by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, while visiting an exhibition of Belarus’ Svitanak Cultural Centre in Tashkent at the festive celebrations dedicated to Navruz, BelTA reports

The Uzbek leader communicated with the Chairperson of the Svitanak Centre, Galina Tatarenko, at the event held in the main park of the capital, telling her, “We love Belarusians very much. We have long had special, good relations with Belarus. You probably see and notice this.”

Shavkat Mirziyoyev drew attention to the importance of peace in modern difficult conditions. “There should peace in the world, and this is the key. In this difficult time, we must support each other, live in peace and tranquillity. On my part, I will do everything so that people in Uzbekistan live in peace, as one family. I wish you good health and a happy holiday," he wished Belarusians.

Representatives of the Belarusian diaspora met the President of Uzbekistan with bread and salt, also singing a Belarusian song.

Celebrations on the occasion of Navruz were held in Tashkent and throughout Uzbekistan on March 21st, and one of them was organised in the Yangi O’zbekistan Park, with Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s participation. The Uzbek leader visited the exhibitions of national cultural centres and folk crafts.
