“You boast 888 victories, according to my data, and only 5 defeats. The last one was in 2000, when you faced the American and claimed silver… I remember this match,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

“And I remember how, on the anniversary of the Sochi Olympics in 2015, you gave me definitions that were too soaring,” replied the athlete.

“No, not too soaring,” assured the President.

The Belarusian Head of State noted that he is familiar with the activities of the Karelin Fund public organisation, “I have been following your new creative projects carefully. They are very interesting. I thought the last time how is it to prepare such a project, relying on history and so on? How many people do work in your group?”

The guest replied, “Actually a small group. The main thing is the proper mood. Yesterday I spent three and a half hours in your Museum of the Great Patriotic War. I talked to these women, who are working there; one of them is 72 and she has been serving there for 48 years. When you rely on such people, then there’s no need in permanent staff. You just need to find them, give them the opportunity, the voice, the background. That’s how it all works out.”
