Portuguese MEP: broad campaign launched in Europe to spread disinformation about Belarus

A broad campaign of disinformation about what is happening in Belarus has been launched in Europe – as stated by Portuguese MEP António Filipe Gaião Rodrigues during an online meeting with a deputy of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly, Sergei Klishevich

“We have a tradition in the European Union: if the election results do not satisfy the ruling elite of the European Union, then the election is not recognised and is criticised. Every time the candidate on whom the European Union is betting does not win, a broad campaign of discredit is immediately launched. We are already used to such a situation, and it is especially sad that this is always widely covered by the printed media. On the other hand, there is no way to express the opposite opinion in the media. We are currently going through a difficult period in terms of freedom of speech and information in the European Union. The media outlets that try to give a different point of view are closed," the MEP noted.
