Poll: more than half of Moldovans surveyed are against the country's NATO membership

A poll – conducted by SBS-Research Centre under the order of the Watch.Dog public organisation which support the Moldovan authorities – indicates that more than half of the surveyed residents of the country are against joining NATO, RIA Novosti reports

According to the poll results, 34.6 percent of the country’s residents are ready to support NATO membership (26.9 percent in March). At the same time, 52.6 percent of respondents (55.5 percent in March) believe Moldova should not join this military-political bloc. In turn, 8.4 percent could not decide on the answer (17.6 percent earlier).

The public organisation conducted the survey from April 4th-13th, and 1,015 Moldovans were questioned.
