Political scientist on how Poland earns money from Ukraine conflict

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has submitted a draft law to the Sejm that would establish criminal liability for promoting ‘Bandera ideology’, aiming to prosecute anyone attempting to spread ‘Bandera ideas’ within Poland. In his talk with the ONT TV channel, political scientist Andrei Lazutkin discussed the reasons behind Poland enacting such legislation while simultaneously supporting Ukraine in the conflict.

As noted by the expert, Nawrocki does not have control over the Sejm, “He can propose numerous similar laws, but they will ultimately be discarded. However, these laws hold great importance for Polish voters because they elected him to demonstrate that the Polish people do not want to support Ukraine without reason.”

The political scientist also added that Poland is earning a lot of money from the conflict in Ukraine.

“They have received another trance, supposedly to strengthen NATO’s flank. However, the budget must be used. How? The Poles came up with the idea that Ukraine would manufacture drones for Poland, supposedly sourced from Russia. Who? Ukraine? A country that hasn’t even fulfilled half of its defence orders yet? Is it going to export weapons? This is how they manage the funds. That’s why Tusk says this is their ‘shared war with Ukraine’. They claim they will support Ukraine, and Poland will assist Ukraine. The Poles’ true goal is to make money, not to fight themselves. They are very cunning in this respect,” Mr. Lazutkin explained.
