In an interview with the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna publication, Mr. Ochepa said, “There is a serious risk of war with Russia, which we will face in the period from three to ten years. Everything depends on how the conflict in Ukraine will end.”

He believes it is now important to pay special attention to the armament of the Polish army. According to Mr. Ochepa, Warsaw intends to allocate 30-40bn Zlotys ($6.3-8.5bn) of extra-budgetary funds from the Armed Forces Support Fund for these purposes, another 98bn Zlotys ($21.7bn) is allocated for the country’s defence needs for 2023.
