According to him, this will be the largest arms export contract in the last thirty years.

“As a matter of fact, we are now signing one of the largest, if not the largest, arms export contracts in the last three decades. It deals with the sale of arms for Ukrainians, to Ukraine. We’ll be providing tried and tested weapons, that will prove to be very important on the battlefield, most likely in eastern Ukraine,” explained the Polish PM.

Mr. Morawiecki did not specify what kind of weapons he was talking about.

According to him, a share of the transaction will be financed by the European Union.

“Ukraine would receive some of the funding for the purchase of weapons from the EU, with the remainder coming from its own budget while Poland will get this money to enhance our production potential,” he said.

In turn, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin specified that the contract amount would be almost $630m.
