Szymon Holownia noted that Europe currently spends 75bn Euros annually on defence, with 80 percent of these funds going outside the EU. According to him, this should change, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Finland should develop ‘their own potential, their own capabilities’. The speaker of the Polish Sejm said that countries should not be afraid of what US President Donald Trump will do. He urged to do their own things as efficiently as possible.
According to Holownia, European countries have a duty to react properly in the event of a trade war between the EU and the US. He said that it is necessary to protect ‘our own citizens and the market’.
