Poland records highest inflation over 25 years

In June, inflation in Poland reached its peak over the past 25 years to make 15.6 percent, with car fuel and food prices skyrocketing, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Statistics Poland

As noted, inflation peaked since 1997 – to make 15.6 percent in June. “This is the highest figure since March 1997," Statistics Poland informed.

It is also reported that consumer prices in the country increased by 1.5 percent as related to the previous month, and car fuel became 9.4 percent more expensive.

Experts consider the situation in Poland will not improve in the near future. According to Marcin Klucznik, from the Polish Economic Institute, food prices will increase by 20 percent in August against the same period in 2021.
