Poland may introduce additional bans on agricultural imports from Ukraine

The Polish government will be forced to introduce additional bans on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine without appropriate support from the EU, TASS reports

Poland’s PM Donald Tusk noted at a press conference following negotiations between the heads of government of the Visegrad Four Group (Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland) in Prague, “We do not rule out expanding the embargo [on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products] if the European Union cannot find more effective options for protecting the Polish market.”

The Polish PM once again confirmed that the country is ready to co-finance the transfer of surplus grain in Europe to countries in need as humanitarian aid.

Earlier, Polish Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Getman said that the European Commission could direct surplus agricultural products from Ukraine on the European market to African countries.
