During a ceremony presenting a report on losses suffered by Poland as a result of the attack of Nazi Germany and the German occupation in 1939-1945, Mr. Kaczynski said, “The figure that was presented as the sum of the losses incurred is the most limited, conservative, and it can be significantly increased. It makes 6 trillion 200 billion Zlotys [$1.3 trillion – TASS remark].”

“From the point of view of Germany and considering that it takes decades to pay such compensations, this sum is affordable for the German economy,” the politician added. According Mr. Kaczynski, the presentation of the report on reparations was ‘a decision to raise this issue on the international arena, especially in Polish-German relations’.
