PM: draft five-year programme of Belarus’ socio-economic development ready
The programme of Belarus’ socio-economic development for the next five years (2026-2030) is in active development – as stated by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel, sb.by reports
“The programme of Belarus’ socio-economic development for the next five years is in active development. We can say that the draft is ready. We have decided on the main messages and priorities. But there is still time, and we are still holding internal discussions. Because, most likely, the outlines of the programme will have to be presented at the Belarusian People’s Congress,’ Mr. Golovchenko said.
The PM emphasised that the outlines of the future programme will be presented, ‘i.e., our priorities and the tools with which we are going to achieve the set goals’, “However, the programme will be considered in H2 2025 in accordance with the established procedure. Intensive discussions are currently underway.”
Answering the journalist’s question how the beginning of 2025 is developing in economic terms, Mr. Golovchenko said that January was good, “Better than our forecasts. Investments did well, and we have over 20 percent gain. Trade also performed well, as did industry, despite all the difficulties that exist. So, the January results are good, but we need to keep the pace throughout the quarter,” the PM stated.
