Picket held near Polish Embassy in Minsk against thoughtless actions of Poland’s authorities

Those gathered near the diplomatic mission building were extremely dissatisfied with the fascist behaviour of Polish politicians. In their opinion, the authorities of this neighbouring country are interfering in Belarus’ internal affairs and trying to distort its history. Moreover, the demolition of monuments to Soviet soldier-liberators on the eve of Victory Day is a sign of the heyday of fascism in Poland. After all, our grandfathers and great-grandfathers saved not only Poland from the Nazis, but also the whole of Europe. Patriots were also dissatisfied with the construction of a wall on the Belarusian-Polish border in Belovezhskaya Pushcha since it will cause great harm to Belarus’ nature and wildlife. In protest, people brought a doll without a head; it symbolised the thoughtless actions of Poland’s authorities.

“We are against the Poles’ ongoing actions. They are demolishing sixty monuments, having forgotten of their history. My grandfather, your grandfather erected these monuments, people brought flowers there – and they are demolishing the now. And the wall… Do you know how many animals have died already there? Is this Polish democracy?” a deputy of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Oleg Gaidukevich, shared his opinion.
