The exhibition is divided into two large expositions and covers the main stages of the Great Patriotic War: from the invasion of Nazi Germany into the USSR in 1941 to the victorious battles in Berlin in 1945.

The main part of the exhibition consists of photogs from the front, selected by the EEC staff from the state archives of the EAEU member states. Modern audio-visual effects – projection of black-and-white photos on the walls, artistic lighting, musical accompaniment – give the display a unique atmosphere. A selection of yellowed newspapers and soldiers’ letters also attracts the attention of visitors.

“We pay deep respect to the courage and great feats of arms of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers in the name of Victory over fascism,” Chairman of the EEC Board Bakytzhan Sagintaev said at the opening of the exhibition. “Each exhibit of our exposition has a special value, because behind the portraits and surnames of the heroes there are unique stories of their heroic deeds.”

Another part of the exhibition – Our Heroes – features about 600 photos of relatives of the EEC employees who took part in the Great Patriotic War. Information on each veteran has been additionally studied through open archival sources: biographical information has been created and updated, and information on awards and military ranks has been restored.

This exhibition is also available on the EEC website in the Our Heroes section.
