Pertsov on Our President book: copy for true patriot’s collection

The work on the documentary and biographical essay Our President was enormous – as noted by Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov during today’s book presentation, held at the National Library of Belarus. The documentary and biographical essay was presented by a team of authors: Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Scientist of Belarus Aleksandr Radkov, President’s Press Secretary Natalya Eismont, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov, and Head of the Belarus Publishing House Aleksandr Karlyukevich.

Mr. Pertsov pointed out that there are quite a lot of books about heads of state today, “These are multi-genre publications. Some are pure biography, some are publicist, some are photo albums. Somewhere it is a set of quotations from various media, even publications from one agency. But this was not our way. Our book abounds not only in documentary and biographical essays, being a monolithic essay consisting of three parts, but also includes a large number of documentary materials, photocopies, photographs from the archives of the President Administration, the Head of State’s press service, BelTA news agency, other publishing houses and mass media.”

The Deputy Head of the President Administration drew attention to the fact that much was included in the book, but there were much more materials in the work, and added that the publication includes just over 10 percent of those materials that were revised by the author’s team, “These are the materials of the President’s thirty years of hard work, reflecting the personal initiative of the Head of State, the impetus for all the achievements that have taken place in Belarus. Aspects related to international architecture in general are reflected: the book includes speeches and materials of the President’s meetings with leaders of other states, speeches from the UN rostrum.”

Mr. Pertsov expressed confidence that the book was created for different generations, including young people.

“I am well aware that the demand is enormous. In creating this book over three years, we have done a tremendous amount of work. The author’s team took a huge risk of not being fully appreciated by supporters, who might think that something was not included in the book, that something was missing. But we could not fit everything, show everything and tell about everything that has been done by the Head of State for thirty years. I am sure that the book turned out to be worthy,” he said.
