The Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) has launched a patriotic labour project: Winter Route. Six teams will join it this year, with the total number of participants reaching 120. Young people plan to visit dozens of districts and overcome over 1,500km.
This year, the project will be held countrywide – for the first time in its history. Aleksandr Prokhorov, the Second Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee, explains, “Young people have independently developed routes and will travel to the regions during holidays. They will visit educational institutions and meet with schoolchildren – telling them of specialties and educational establishments. Assistance to the elderly and the Great Patriotic War veterans will be provided. The project participants will also clean up memorial complexes and military graves. In the Year of Historical Memory, we will pay special attention to the heroic feat of our people.”
