Participation of observers from Pakistan in assessing Belarus’ election process expands horizons of co-operation
Representatives of Pakistan have visited the Central Election Commission of Belarus
“In our country, the CEC has one chairman and four staff members. We are interested in your experience, and I am sure the election in Belarus will be as comfortable as possible for everyone: peaceful, honest, and open,” Durrani Nisar Ahmed, a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Pakistan, said. He noted that this is his first time in Belarus, and he intends to visit Minsk’s polling stations to see how the work there is organised. Durrani Nisar Ahmed believes the participation of observers from Pakistan in the assessment of the voting process in Belarus broadens the horizons of Belarusian-Pakistani co-operation.
Responding to a question from observers, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, Igor Karpenko, noted that the Presidential election is held once every five years in the republic. He also informed on how the Single Voting Day is organised.
"We are very pleased that Pakistan’s representatives have responded to our invitation and come to Belarus as international observers,” Mr. Karpenko stressed.
